Sound of the Birds (2021)

An experimental film exploring the anxieties of a British-Afghan bride on her wedding day, as her fears for her homeland overtake her beautiful rituals. The visually striking piece was shot on the day the Taliban returned to power and stars diverse talents Ila Verse, Nargis Javany, Mariam Rikweda and Mellanie Farahani. The film has played as an installation art piece at the Worth Ryder Gallery in 2023 and Goethe Institut in Berlin.
